An ambitious modernization project
In Lausanne, a couple who owned an old house wanted to modernize their 10 m² kitchen, which was no longer suited to their daily life. The space, poorly arranged and not functional, lacked storage and light. Their wish was to transform this central room into a modern, ergonomic, and friendly place, both practical for cooking and pleasant for sharing moments with family.
They chose to entrust their project to Avenir Rénovations Lausanne, to benefit from comprehensive support, from the technical study to the final installation of their new equipped kitchen.
Step 1: Design and layout plan
During the preparatory phase, our teams communicated with the clients to define a project that perfectly matched their desires. Their wish was clear: to create a bright kitchen, with modern furniture, durable materials, and a fluid layout.
We proposed an L-shaped layout, ideal for optimizing a 10 m² space while providing a spacious work surface and plenty of storage. To enhance brightness, we favored smooth white facades, combined with light wood panels for the backsplash and wall cladding, creating an elegant and warm contrast.
Step 2: Demolition and preparation of technical networks
The renovation began with the complete removal of the old kitchen: furniture, appliances, tiles, and wall coverings were taken out to start with a clean slate.
Our teams then rethought all the networks. Water and electricity supplies were relocated to match the new layout. New outlets were installed to meet the needs of modern equipment, and integrated LED lighting was planned to highlight the work surface and ensure optimal comfort.
Step 3: Installation of coverings and finishes
For the floor, the clients chose a modern light wood parquet that harmonizes with the wood used for the backsplash and some wall elements. This choice brings visual continuity and a warm atmosphere to the entire room.
The walls were refurbished and repainted white to maximize brightness and create a sober and elegant setting. The access door was replaced with a more discreet model, and special attention was given to the light wood wall cladding, creating both a decorative effect and continuity with the furniture.
Step 4: Installation of the equipped kitchen
We installed handle-less glossy white cabinets that are both modern and easy to maintain. Their matte finish reflects light and gives a very current minimalist look.
The appliances were ergonomically integrated, with a built-in oven, a discreet hood, and optimized storage spaces up to the ceiling.
The light wood laminate work surface completes the ensemble by adding warmth and practicality, while the matching wall tiles effectively protect the walls while reinforcing the contemporary style.
Step 5: Layout and decoration
Beyond functionality, the layout was designed to create a friendly atmosphere. The dining area with a round table and white chairs fits perfectly into the space, allowing for simple meal sharing.
The owners completed the decoration with a terracotta sofa and light cushions placed in continuity with the kitchen, adding a touch of color and transforming the room into a true living space where one can both cook and relax.
The result: a modern and bright kitchen
After thirty days of work, the transformation is spectacular. This 10 m² kitchen has become a modern, functional, and aesthetic space. Every detail has been considered to combine ease of use and design.
The white and wood furniture creates an elegant and timeless atmosphere, while the light parquet and natural light make the whole particularly warm.
The owners now have a kitchen perfectly suited to their lifestyle: a place where cooking becomes a pleasure, where storage is optimized, and where the friendly atmosphere invites sharing moments with family or friends.
