Increasingly present in interior fit-out projects in Switzerland, polished concrete is establishing itself as a decorative coating that is both modern and versatile. Its continuous appearance, without visible joints, allows it to bring a minimalist and elegant style to various spaces in the home.
This material is particularly appreciated for its ability to transform a room while offering excellent durability over time. It can be used on various surfaces, including floors, walls, or certain furniture elements.
However, before opting for this type of finish, it is important to assess the necessary investment. The price of polished concrete depends on many parameters related to the site, the materials used, and the chosen finishes.
To better understand the rates practiced in Switzerland, Avenir Renovations presents the factors that influence the cost of polished concrete as well as the price estimates observed for this type of coating.
The cost of polished concrete per square meter is never the same from one project to another. Several characteristics specific to the site can significantly alter the final price.
One of the first elements to consider concerns the existing substrate. Polished concrete can be applied to different materials such as old tiles, a plaster substrate, a concrete slab, or certain natural stones.
However, the condition of the substrate plays a decisive role in the application process. If the surface has defects, irregularities, or cracks, prior preparation will be necessary to ensure optimal adhesion.
These preparatory works can influence the overall budget of the intervention.
Several criteria must also be taken into account when estimating the price:
In some cases, a large surface area may allow for cost optimization per square meter. On the other hand, specific decorative effects or high-end finishes may lead to a higher price.
To obtain an accurate estimate tailored to Swiss standards, it is recommended to have a personalized quote prepared by a specialized professional.
Polished concrete is not limited to a perfectly smooth finish. Different techniques allow for the creation of varied textures and aesthetic finishes to bring character to an interior.
Depending on the method used, the price can vary significantly.
Printed concrete, for example, is made using stamps applied to the still-fresh surface to reproduce a specific pattern. This technique allows for an original finish that sometimes resembles stone or certain decorative pavings.
In Switzerland, the average cost for this type of finish generally ranges between 115 CHF and 270 CHF per m².
The marbled finish is another highly appreciated option. It is achieved through the application of pigments or glazes that create subtle and elegant shades. This solution is generally more accessible, with a price ranging between 105 CHF and 150 CHF per m².
The textured finish offers a more structured and textured appearance. Its execution requires a higher level of technical skill. Prices observed in Switzerland generally range between 165 CHF and 220 CHF per m².
Finally, quartz concrete corresponds to a more high-end finish. It involves integrating fine quartz particles into the coating to achieve a particularly resistant and aesthetic surface. The average price ranges between 155 CHF and 250 CHF per m².
These estimates may vary depending on the preparation of the substrate, the surface to be treated, and the level of finish requested.
In Switzerland, several types of polished concrete can be used depending on the desired finish and the nature of the substrate. Each solution has different technical characteristics and a specific cost.
Polished concrete is now an ideal decorative solution to modernize an interior while providing great durability to surfaces.
However, the application of this coating requires true expertise to achieve a uniform and lasting finish.
