Why choose Avenir Renovations?
Why choose a custom semi-cassette awning?
Combining performance, simplicity, and customization, the semi-cassette awning appeals with its versatility. It is the perfect compromise between aesthetics, functionality, and controlled budget, whether for a single-family home or a condominium.
An effective protection for the fabric
The fabric is completely wrapped in the cassette when retracted. This protects it durably against rain, dust, UV rays, and dirt, while making maintenance easier.
Partially visible but robust arms
Unlike a fully enclosed awning, the semi-cassette leaves the arms exposed when closed. This allows for a lighter structure while ensuring excellent mechanical reliability.
A sleek and contemporary aesthetic
The discreet cassette adds a refined finish to your facade. Available in several colors, it easily integrates into all architectural styles, from alpine chalets to contemporary villas.
An excellent value for money
Less expensive than a fully enclosed model, the semi-cassette awning offers very similar performance while reducing the overall investment. It is a perfect solution for well-planned budgets.

Technical Features of the Custom Semi-Cassette Awning
The custom semi-cassette awning is designed to fit precisely to your facade, your aesthetic preferences, and the Swiss climate conditions. Each component is selected for its quality and durability.
Thermally Coated Aluminum Cassette
The cassette is made of lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum. The thermolacquer provides excellent weather resistance, with a choice of finishes that allows you to match the awning to your joinery.
High-Quality Acrylic Fabric
Resistant to UV rays, mold, and fading, the acrylic fabric is ideal for prolonged outdoor use. It can be chosen in solid colors or stripes, in a wide range of colors.
Constant Tension Articulated Arms
The aluminum arms are designed to maintain optimal tension on the fabric when deployed. This mechanism prevents creases and ensures reliable holding, even in moderate winds.
Motorization or Crank
The semi-cassette awning can be operated manually or motorized. The motorization allows for smooth opening via remote control, switch, or mobile app, with the possibility of integration into a home automation system.
Options and Equipment Compatible with a Semi-Cassette Awning
For even more comfort and durability, several options can be added to your semi-cassette awning, either at the time of purchase or later. They enhance the autonomy, security, and ambiance of your outdoor space.
Integrated LED Lighting
Integrated under the cassette or in the arms, the LED strips provide soft light to extend your evenings. Controlled remotely, they create a warm and elegant atmosphere.
Wind and Sun Sensor
This device automates the opening or closing of the awning based on the weather. It protects the structure in case of strong winds and optimizes shade according to the sun's path.
Vertical Rollable Valance
A valance can be added to the front to protect you from low sun or to maintain your privacy. Motorized or manual, it complements sun protection without adding weight to the structure.
Connected Motorization
The motorization can be paired with a home automation system for control via smartphone or voice assistant. You can program scenarios or open the awning remotely.

Regulations for the installation of a semi-cassette awning in French-speaking Switzerland
The installation of a custom semi-cassette awning is subject to certain local urban planning rules. It is essential to comply with these to avoid any request for removal or penalties, particularly in urban areas or condominiums.
Work declaration or authorization depending on the municipality
In many municipalities in French-speaking Switzerland, the installation of an awning is considered a visible modification of the facade. A building permit or prior declaration may be required, especially in city centers, historical or protected areas.
At Avenir Rénovations, we systematically check the regulations applicable in your municipality and prepare the necessary documents if a request needs to be made.
Case of condominiums and PPE
If you live in a PPE, the installation of a semi-cassette awning must be approved by the assembly of co-owners. Uniformity rules may impose a specific fabric color, a model of awning, or a particular installation method.
We assist you in preparing the file to be submitted to the property manager, with technical sheets and visuals of the chosen model.
Aesthetic or environmental constraints
Some areas impose specific aesthetic rules: sober colors, prohibition of patterned fabrics, limited dimensions… This aims to maintain the architectural harmony of a neighborhood or to respect heritage constraints.
We adapt the design of your semi-cassette awning to ensure it is compliant with local rules without compromising your comfort.
Electrical installation according to Swiss standards
If your awning is motorized, the installation must comply with the current NIBT standards. Our partner electricians perform a secure connection, with a certificate of compliance if necessary
FAQ – Your questions about semi-cassette awnings
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions from our clients regarding the installation of a custom semi-cassette awning.
What is the lifespan of a semi-cassette awning?
A quality awning installed according to the rules of the trade can last 15 to 20 years, or even longer with regular maintenance. The fabric, on the other hand, usually needs to be replaced after 10 to 12 years depending on exposure.
Can a semi-cassette awning be installed on a wooden facade?
Yes, provided that specific anchors suitable for the nature of the support are used. Our technicians check the solidity of the facade and install reinforced fixings to ensure safety.
What is the difference between a monobloc awning and a semi-cassette?
The monobloc awning is fully open, without protection for the fabric or the arms. The semi-cassette protects the fabric but leaves the arms visible. It offers better longevity while remaining accessible.
Does a semi-cassette awning resist wind?
It is designed to withstand moderate wind, but must be retracted in case of gusts. For added safety, the addition of a wind sensor is highly recommended. This automatically closes the awning in case of strong gusts.
Can motorization be added later?
Yes. If you initially install a manual awning, you can motorize the mechanism later. It just needs to be compatible, which we check during the initial installation.
