Why choose Avenir Renovations?
How to fit out an accessible bathroom in Geneva?
The fit-out of accessible bathrooms in Geneva follows a precise method, room by room, so that every action gains in safety. Every technical choice addresses a real mobility need without complicating daily use. Two key areas focus the main work: the shower and circulation in the available space.
Create an accessible and safe shower
An accessible shower always starts with a level floor, without edges or steps to overcome. The flat shower tray or Italian shower facilitates entry in a wheelchair or with walking assistance. Our building professional chooses a non-slip surface, classified according to current Swiss standards, to limit any risk of falling. At Avenir Renovations, the choice of a fitting-out of bathrooms also simplifies the installation of a discreet floor drain. The drainage is then designed for daily use.
Adapt the sanitary facilities and circulation spaces
The wheelchair needs space to turn, which requires a review of the entire room layout. A minimum passage of 90 centimeters around the sink and sanitary facilities facilitates every movement. The height of the sink also matters, as does the clearance under the cabinet to accommodate knees. At Avenir Renovations, these adjustments often involve complete plumbing work to relocate a water supply or existing drainage.
How does Avenir Renovations carry out your accessible bathroom?
At Avenir Renovations Geneva, every fit-out of an accessible bathroom in Geneva begins with a free visit from our Project Manager. He assesses the room and technical constraints before any pricing. We then provide a detailed quote within 8 days, along with complete administrative support and personalized advice if assistance is available. Our fit-outs are adaptable to both old buildings and recent constructions in Geneva.
What equipment should be planned for an accessible bathroom?
The choice of equipment makes all the difference in the comfort of an accessible bathroom fit-out in Geneva. Each installation must withstand humidity while providing a reliable grip, day after day. Not every renovation company in Geneva offers the same certified materials or the same support services. Each solution must meet the specific needs of the user.
Grab bars are installed near the shower, sink, and toilet, in places where balance is most fragile. They support significant weight and are chosen based on the strength and mobility of the person. A foldable shower seat frees up space when not in use, an advantage in often compact Geneva bathrooms. At Avenir Renovations, this type of senior bathroom fit-out is suitable for both older homes and recent constructions. The installations are designed to last.
A wall-mounted sink, adjustable in height, is suitable for both standing and seated use. The single lever mixer tap requires less force than a traditional faucet, a detail that makes a big difference in daily life. Several features often complement this type of project:
- enhanced lighting near the mirror and preparation areas,
- a bathtub replaced by a level-access shower to reduce the risk of falls,
- non-slip, water-resistant flooring throughout the room.
At Avenir Renovations, the same logic of reduced mobility often guides the fit-out of a PMR kitchen, for an interior designed around autonomy.
What budget should be planned for a PMR bathroom in Geneva?
Three grab bars and a folding seat cost one thing, a rethought PMR bathroom as a whole is another. Between these two extremes, each PMR bathroom fit-out project in Geneva finds its own budget balance. It all depends on the extent of the work and the condition of the existing installations. The area, the chosen materials, and the level of finish vary the cost from one project to another. Avenir Renovations carries out all of this work, from the first meeting to the completion of the project. Our online simulator helps you estimate the price of a bathroom renovation, a useful first step before your custom quote.
