Why choose Avenir Renovations?
What work is included in an interior renovation in Geneva?
Interior renovation work in Geneva almost always involves multiple rooms at once. Between the renovation of interior walls, the replacement of floors and windows, a construction site mobilizes several trades. Bringing electrical networks up to SIA standards often completes the program. Our building professional assesses everything before proposing a coherent phasing, ensuring quality work suited to Geneva's architecture and your budget.
Modify the layout of the rooms
In Champel, a closed kitchen sometimes gives way to an open space onto the living room, with a better view of the outside. The bathroom renovation also allows for a few extra square meters from a neighboring bedroom. A load-bearing wall sometimes limits this layout, which requires revisiting the project from the design stage. We study the building's structure before validating what remains feasible, including windows. In the old buildings of the Old Town, a preliminary study avoids unpleasant surprises once the work begins. Some partitions contribute to the overall stability, which changes the game for your apartment.
Renovate floors, walls, and ceilings
Floors, walls, and ceilings absorb a significant portion of the budget for an interior renovation in Geneva. The renovation of floors often involves the installation of quality parquet or tiles, depending on the room's use. Walls sometimes require leveling before painting, especially in the old buildings of Carouge where the original coatings have aged poorly. Ceilings often reveal cracks or insufficient sound insulation. This is a significant issue in Geneva's collective buildings, where even the slightest sound of heels resonates with the neighbor below.
Modernize installations and equipment
An aging electrical installation or dated plumbing quickly impacts daily comfort. The kitchen renovation generally incorporates new equipment, from built-in refrigerators to connected hoods, not to mention water supply and drainage. These installations sometimes require a complete rearrangement of existing networks. The standards of the Geneva Industrial Services (SIG) mandate an upgrade of the electrical panel, particularly in buildings managed by a property management company. Our building professional checks each installation before starting the work, a service that prevents any administrative blockages during the project.
How to organize interior renovation work?
A rigorous planning makes all the difference in interior renovation work in Geneva, from the first sketch to the handover of the keys. Each step, from ceiling renovation to the finishing touches, benefits from being scheduled in advance. A delay can quickly impact the final budget and the quality of the work delivered.
How much does an interior renovation cost in Geneva?
The budget for interior renovation work in Geneva depends on the condition of the building, the area to be treated, and the desired level of finish. An old apartment in the Old Town often requires more work than a recent house in Acacias. The choice of materials, from solid wood flooring to high-end tiles, also affects the final cost. Several concrete criteria further refine this estimate:
- the general condition of the building, between old structures in the center and more recent constructions,
- the total area involved in the work,
- the level of access to the site, sometimes complicated in buildings without large elevators,
- the procedures to be anticipated with the management or the condominium (property by floors).
Our Project Manager takes every element into account from the first visit, before providing you with a detailed quote that reflects the reality of the site. To refine this budget according to your project, estimating the price of an interior wall renovation takes only a few minutes with our online simulator.
