Why choose Avenir Renovations?
Indoor flooring in Geneva: how to choose it?
Choosing an indoor flooring in Geneva primarily depends on the use of the room. The living room is sensitive to humidity, the bathroom does not tolerate solid wood flooring well, and the kitchen requires durability and ease of maintenance. The Geneva climate, with its dry summers and humid winters, plays a role in the durability of the chosen material. At Avenir Rénovations, we guide you towards the material suited for each room, from warm parquet to waxed concrete flooring, including tiles or vinyl. Our team is also aware of the specific constraints of old buildings in the historic center and offers services tailored to all your interiors, recognized in the Swiss market.
Parquet, a warm choice for your interior
Parquet brings immediate warmth to a living room or bedroom. Solid oak endures through the decades without weakening, while laminate flooring appeals with its affordable price and quick installation. Wood also offers good sound insulation, a significant advantage in Geneva buildings with sometimes old floors. However, be cautious of the humidity in water rooms, where wood does not fare well and eventually warps. At Avenir Rénovations, our building professional advises you on the most suitable wood species for the Geneva climate before a successful parquet installation.
Tiles, vinyl, or carpet, what are the differences?
Tiles reign in bathrooms and kitchens due to their water resistance and minimal maintenance, a decisive criterion for Geneva households concerned with durability. Vinyl now mimics wood or stone at a lower cost, a strong argument for a tight budget. Carpet, rarer today, still has followers for the comfort it offers in bedrooms. With Avenir Rénovations, a well-executed tile installation lasts for decades without a shifting joint, an investment that pays off in the long run. This material also remains a wise choice for owners concerned about the future resale of their property.
Prepare your floor before installation: key steps
A successful installation of interior floor covering in Geneva always starts with a flawless substrate. At Avenir Rénovations, we assess the condition of the existing floor and undertake the necessary floor renovation work. Removal, leveling, drying, each step conditions the durability of the final covering, and neglecting any of them compromises the lifespan of the whole, regardless of the coverings installed in each room. A preliminary diagnosis detects issues of rising damp, common in older buildings in the canton. This preparation phase sometimes takes longer than the installation itself, but it ensures a durable result over time.

What budget to plan for an interior floor covering in Geneva?
The budget for an interior floor covering in Geneva depends on the chosen material, the area to be covered, and the condition of the existing substrate. High-end tiles logically cost more than entry-level vinyl, and a floor requiring leveling increases the final bill. The complexity of access to the site, such as an apartment on an upper floor without an elevator, also influences the final labor cost. At Avenir Rénovations, you can estimate the cost of tile installation directly online before validating your project and receiving a detailed quote for your coverings.
